Welcome to PYSSUM Blogs!
We are delighted to introduce the blog section on the PYSSUM website, which will also feature in our E-Newsletter.
While the PYSSUM E-Newsletter showcases on-the-ground activities across our centres—PCDC, PVTRC, PRTC, and the Wellness Centre—this blog is designed to spotlight emerging research, innovative approaches, and evolving ideologies that professionals and institutions are using to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs).
We warmly invite contributions from our readers, so that educators, researchers, supporters, and families within the IDD community can share insights and benefit from one another’s experiences and knowledge.
We are pleased to launch our blog with an article by Dr. Timothy Kieran O’Mahony, PhD, FRGS, of the Institute for Connecting Neuroscience with Teaching and Learning (Seattle, WA).📞 (206) 499-0176 | 🌐 neuraleducation.org
Dr. Kieran is the author of The Brain-Based Classroom (Routledge, 2021) and has led several neuroscience-based initiatives in teaching and learning. Since 2023, he has been conducting online classes for PYSSUM’s special educators.
His insightful article will appear in two parts in our E-Newsletter. We look forward to your thoughts and feedback. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Kieran for granting permission to publish his work in both our blog and newsletter.
Joyous participation in valuing the challenges.
